Wegner blames england for theo walcott's insecutiry (#65) on 09-02-2010 at 10:51:53
After a heady night in Zagreb when he effectively launched Fabio Capello's short but stellar career as the national coach, young Walcott symbolised a brave new England. Fast, ruthless but stylish as well.
It's eighteen months since his hat-trick inspired England's brilliant World Cup qualifying win over Croatia. But, if the whispers coming from inside the camp are to be believed, there are grave doubts whether he will be on the plane to South Africa later this year.
And his Arsenal career has merely flattered to deceive. Mainly because of injury but also because he has failed to shine in his limited opportunities.
Some even suggest the 20-year-old, taken to World Cup 2006 by Sven-Goran Eriksson and then scandalously not allowed anywhere near the pitch, is having a crisis of confidence.
