England would not have crashed out of the European Under-21 Championship had Jack Wilshere not pulled out of the squad, according to deposed captain Michael Mancienne.
Stuart Pearce's Young Lions left Denmark today still in a state of shock following last night's last-gasp collapse against Czech Republic, which saw them eliminated from the tournament.
England saved their best performance for last and could count themselves unlucky to concede in the final minute and stoppage-time to lose 2-1 in Viborg.

YES we would have been way stronger with Carroll and Wilshere but you can't rewrite history just looking back..
