BackFabio Capello resigns as England manager following talks at Wembley with Football Association chairman David Bernstein.
On Monday, the Italian, 65, publicly challenged the FA's decision to strip John Terry of the captaincy.
An FA statement read: "The Football Association can confirm that Fabio Capello has today resigned as England manager. The discussions focused on the FA Board's decision to remove the England team captaincy from John Terry, and Fabio Capello's response through an Italian broadcast interview. In a meeting for over an hour, Fabio's resignation was accepted and he will leave the post of England manager with immediate effect."
Wooow... I didn't expect this reaction for Capello's words... A new era is starting, we'll see how this whole drama ends.

johnrushing I was hoping he would quit. Good man. England need someone to come in and sweep out the dead old wood who have been given multiple opportunities to be successful and continuously fail while playing uninspired football. Whoever comes in, hopefully Redknapp, needs to dump Terry, Lampard, Barry, Ferdinand and several others who are not up to the task of international football. There are a squad-full of young, hungry talent waiting to show what they can do. I would also never, ever again call up Crouch, Walcott, Lescott, Downing or Glen Johnson.
